Youth theater group presents ‘Les Miz’
The Young Actors’ Theatre is performing the award-winning Broadway musical “Les Miserables” from July 18 to 22 at MCASD’s Sherwood Auditorium. The performance is a reprise of the original production of “Les Miserables,” which received two National Youth Theatre Awards earlier this year for Best Actor and for Outstanding Ensemble.
“Les Miserables” is based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo and set in 19th-century France. The musical has received eight 1987 Tony Awards and more than 50 international theater awards.
The Young Actors’ Theatre, a nonprofit theater organization based in Spring Valley, trains children ages 6 to 20 in drama and theater tech year-round, in addition to initiating outreach programs to San Diego schools.
Sherwood Auditorium is located at 700 Prospect St. Ticket prices are $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, or $25 for VIP seats in the first four rows.
