Old Skool teaches two Rs ” rock & roll ” at concert
The Old Skool Rock-n-Roll Band is inviting La Jolla and University City community members to attend their live performance from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Doyle Park.
The concert is organized by Bob Bishop, a University City resident for more than 30 years and bass player for the band. The band is also composed of several Madison High School teachers, including lead guitarist Ron Moss, a U.S. history teacher, lead singer Ron Runyan, a psychology teacher, and lead singer April Avery, a registrar at Madison.
Other band members from the San Diego community are guitarist Brent Avery, sax player Johnny Casteneda, drummer Randy Hart, keyboardists Rich King and Jon Jerge and maracas player Bob Noda.
The band performs a lively mix of oldies from the 1950s and ’60s, among them favorite songs by the Beatles and Motown artists.
