By now, I know you’ve heard the horrific news concerning Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C. Unfortunately, acts of violence against places of worship are far too familiar in our society. Whether it’s an attack on a Sikh temple in Wisconsin, a mosque in Phoenix, an anti-abortion church shooting in Kansas, defacing synagogues in San Francisco, burning black churches in the South and now the shooting of of persons in prayer, we must remain steadfast in our faith that God is with us. Now is not the time to lock our doors. There has been a great outpouring of love from many in the La Jolla community who have vocalized their outrage to such injustice. As a result, I would like for those who can to join me this evening, June 19, from 6 to 7 in our sanctuary for a time of prayer and solidarity. Pastor Chuck Norris
