BALBOA PARK — Ocean Beach resident Michael Klam is scheduled to participate in The San Diego Museum of Art’s “Summer Salon Series” on Thursday, Aug. 12. Klam will present his latest poetry pieces in a traveling minstrel fashion. The museum’s “Summer Salon Series” will highlight different, contemporary performance artists in and outside the museum through Sept. 2. From spoken word and noise machines to a live performance with vibrating milk and a mobile concert bus, guests will see unique and bizarre performances as these local artists perform, present, and demonstrate their work alongside the museum’s permanent collection. The museum’s galleries will stay open until 9 p.m. for the series and include art-making stations, cocktails by Giuseppe’s and more than 3,000 years of art on the walls. The “Summer Salon Series” performances are free with museum admission. The museum is located at 1450 El Prado in Balboa Park.
