In response to the “Letters to the Editor” June 12 edition of the Beacon, complaining of the new restrictions on Del Mar Avenue, I’d like to clarify that Del Mar Avenue is not meant to be a thoroughfare. It is, and always has been a residential street.
It was not constructed to accommodate the large numbers of commuter traffic that its’ residents have experienced in the last few years. It would be interesting to see how those who criticize would deal with that amount of traffic on their streets!
The folks who came up with this new solution have certainly done their due diligence, and it is rather petty and selfish of others to complain of an extra 2-3 minutes out of their mornings or afternoons in order to afford their neighbors a little peace of mind.
