Whether you are for or against drinking alcohol on Pacific and Mission beaches, the primary concern is safety now.
Too many people are packed into these small spans of beach every weekend.
It is time to either:
a) ban alcohol on these two beaches, or
b) open up alcohol drinking on all San Diego County beaches in an effort to disperse people across the county.
As one 25 year old so aptly said on the Pacific Beach/Mission Beach boardwalk three hours after the riot, “La Jolla beaches are old school, dude. If you are 25, you gotta come here (Pacific Beach/Mission Beach); you’ll definitely get hooked up!”
Let’s spread people out across all of our county’s beautiful beaches again! Either allow or ban alcohol everywhere. It’s time to make a decision!
