SAN DIEGO — Parade-goers headed to celebrate Veterans Day are advised to ride the bus or Trolley, according to a statement released by the Metropolitan Transit System. The Veterans Day parade starts at 11 a.m. at Cedar Street and Pacific Highway. Due to the anticipated arrival of the distressed Carnival Cruise Line ship Splendor at approximately the same time, the Port of San Diego is anticipating heavy traffic. Portions of Pacific Highway will be closed for the parade and portions of North Harbor Drive may also be closed to accommodate buses picking up cruise ship passengers. All Metropolitan Transit System service will be on a regular timetable on Thursday, with Trolley service at 15-minute intervals around parade time.
