My name is Sam Van Horne. I’m 10 years old. I live in Point Loma, and I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 500. Troop 500 helps keep the Point Loma Native Plant Reserve clean and healthy so everyone can enjoy it when they visit.
This is what we found when we cleaned the reserve on Nov. 3. We found 200 cigarette butts, a bicycle kickstand and wheel, rotten clothing, bottles, glass and plastic, and people who didn’t clean up after their pets.
Troop 500 suggests that every month people volunteer to help take care of the preserve. We also ask everyone to please not litter and to clean up after your pets so everyone can enjoy a clean reserve.
