As a longtime Pacific Beach resident, I’ve seen the rules of the road for folks on bikes go from okay to ridiculous. I see city policemen pulling over motorists as people on bikes are running red lights. The corner of Pacific Beach Drive and Crown Point Drive could earn the city enough traffic citations to get the city into the black. If a bike is approaching on Crown Point Drive, you know to slow down in a car because they will certainly run the stop sign and swing in front of traffic. And when did it become safe to ride your bike at night without any lights or reflectors? Isn’t it time for someone to stand up for motorists’ rights?
