A Pacific Beach man has pleaded guilty to killing his dog and will be sentenced Feb. 26.
Jorge Ramos, 22, pleaded guilty to felony animal cruelty before San Diego Superior Court Judge Michael Groch. Court records say Ramos will face up to a year in jail and the judge will “consider everything.”
“I intentionally killed an animal with a rock,” wrote his attorney with Ramos initialing the court document that described the crime.
The incident took place Oct. 20 in an alley near Oliver Avenue and Jewel Street. The dog’s body was found in a dumpster.
Ramos waived having a preliminary hearing on Dec. 21. Ramos was in jail for several weeks until he was able to post $50,000 bond and remains free.
