Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger visited SeaWorld Wednesday, Nov. 7, to promote Southern California tourist destinations, reminding tourists that San Diego is “open for business” following the recent wildfires.
“We want to thank all of you for coming here today”¦spend as much time as possible out here in California, because we need your dollars,” he said to an audience waiting to see Shamu.
Ruben Barrales, president of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, said that events like Schwarzenegger’s press conference can help San Diego recover from the fires by inviting tourists to San Diego as it rebuilds.
“An important part of the recovery process is renewal,” Barrales said.
