The driver of a small sedan was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries early June 11 after the stalled car was rear-ended by a box truck.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Nobel Drive around 1:30 a.m. The driver of the rear-ended sedan was taken to nearby Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The driver of the box truck avoided serious injury, despite the fact that the truck overturned in the crash.
Three northbound lanes of I-5 were blocked as a result of the crash, and the ensuing SigAlert lasted more than three hours.
