A 55-year-old woman was found dead in her debris-filled La Jolla home following a Tuesday, May 13 fire.
A San Diego Fire-Rescue official said that firefighters at the three-story townhouse at 3245 Via Alicante had difficulty accessing the property, encountering piles of household items and reading materials. The woman, whose name was not released, was found on the first floor, where the items had fallen on her.
No other residences were affected. Total damages were estimated at $500,000.
