Erskine extends the Sea Lions’ Player of the Week streak to four Savannah Erskine has been selected as the Pacific West Conference Defensive Player of the Week to extend the Sea Lions’ streak to four straight.
Erskine guided Point Loma to three home wins last week, extending its winning streak to five games, averaging 8.0 assists and 4.3 steals per game. She recorded 10 assists and three steals against Hawai’i Pacific, and seven assists and six steals against BYU-Hawaii. She helped PLNU holds its three opponents to just 56.3 points per game and 31 percent shooting. The PacWest leader in steals with 3.7 per game, Erskine has recorded a steal in every game this season, including 13 with at least three. She also leads the PacWest with 6.0 assists and a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio. Lescault wins PacWest Player of the Week Point Loma junior guard Hayden Lescault was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16. Lescault was an offensive force, averaging 23.0 points per game on 62.2 percent shooting (23-37) from the field and 69.2 percent shooting (9-13) from three-point range on the week. He also chipped in 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Lescault is currently ranked fifth in the PacWest in scoring (17.5), fourth in steals (1.7) and ninth in assists (3.8). He is also ranked in the top 10 in the conference in field goals (third) and minutes played (10th). This is the second PacWest Player of the Week award for Lescault this season. Soccer, cross country teams earn NCCAA honors The Point Loma women’s cross country team and the women’s soccer team each earned National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar Team honors in the fall.
Both teams posted grade-point averages of over 3.4. The PLNU women’s soccer team paced all PLNU squads in the fall with a 3.53 GPA. The women’s cross country team was right behind them with a 3.45 GPA. The NCCAA honors just 35 teams with scholar honors in the fall and the Sea Lions had two of them.
This is the second straight year the PLNU women’s soccer and women’s country team have earned NCCAA Scholar Team honors. PacWest Tournament tickets are on sale now
Tickets for the 2014 PacWest Basketball Tournament in San Diego are on sale. Order tickets at a discounted rate for all the exciting basketball action in Point Loma’s Golden Gymnasium from March 6-8.
Fans can pre-order tickets for each day of the tournament or an all-tournament pass that provides access to every game. Choose the games, print your tickets and go. Single-day general admission tickets are $10 and grant access to all games on that particular day, both men’s and women’s. All-Tournament passes are $25 and only available through the pre-sale site.
