SATURDAY, April 14 The Pacific Beach Woman’s Club will host a Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at Hornblend Hall from 2 to 5 p.m. to support homeless teenagers, assist the relocation of woman and child domestic-abuse victims through Becky’s House, along with other projects and upkeep of the club’s 100-year-old building. Heavy appetizers will be served. Tickets are $10 in advance, and guests will bring along two bottles of their favorite red or white wine, as designated on their purchased ticket. SUNDAY, April 15 The San Diego Epilepsy Foundation will host the 13th annual “Sharon’s Ride/Run/-Walk for Epilepsy” at De Anza Park on Mission Bay. The event includes a 5K walk/run and 15-mile bike ride. Registration begins 7:30 a.m., with the bike ride at 8:45 a.m. The 5K walk/run begins at 9:30 a.m. There will be food, live music and activities for children. The cost is $25 for adults, $10 for children. Kids 6 and under participate free. Entrants are given a free T-shirt. SATURDAY, April 21 The Community Christian Service Agency hosts its 8th annual Hunger Walk. The event supports those in need with emergency food, clothing and referral services. The event begins at 8 a.m. at DeAnza Cove at Mission Bay Park and includes refreshments, pre-walk exercises and a post-walk celebration. For more information, email [email protected]. FRIDAY, April 27 The Christ Lutheran Concert Series presents “Comedy and Tragedy 20th Century Affect” with cellist Eric Moore and concert pianist Daniel Pesca. Moore is the principal cellist for the La Jolla Symphony and Pesca is a concert pianist from Chicago. There will be a free-will offering for the event at 4761 Cass St. For more information, visit www.christpb.org.  SATURDAY, May 5 The Friends of the PB Library hosts its annual rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Items include bikes, fans, vacuum cleaners, electronics, plumbing fixtures, household goods, sporting equipment and more. Drop donations at the Pacific Beach/Taylor Branch Library at 4275 Cass St. on the Thursday and Friday prior to the event between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (858) 581-9934. FRIDAY, May 20 The local Soroptimist Club will host a yard sale to benefit various community projects in Pacific Beach and elsewhere in San Diego. The yard sale takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at 1234 Turquoise St. For more information, call (858) 488-0211. SATURDAY, May 21 “Blues by the Bay” Silent Auction and Dinner at 5 p.m. at the Mission Beach Woman’s Club, 840 Santa Clara Place. Tickets are $20 at the door and include dinner, beverages and live entertainment by the popular Big Daddy Blues Band.
