With the kids out of school, parents may be wondering just what to do with them this summer. The Bishop’s School may have just the answer.
The Bishop’s School’s Academics, Arts and Athletics (AAA) Camp will offer youngsters a variety of opportunities to have fun and educate themselves.
“At the AAA Day Camp, children grouped according to age rotate throughout the day from activity to activity,” director Rob Landis said. “Campers (ages 5-9) receive instruction in a wide variety of activities: arts and crafts, music and theater, science and math exploration, and sports and games.
“Older campers (ages 10-13) receive more sports-centered experiences in the Bishop’s athletic facilities. All campers have access to the McCain Family Aquatics Center.”
The facilities on Bishop’s 11-acre campus offer:
“¢ Five computer laboratories
“¢ Science Center with state-of-the-art technology and laboratories
“¢ Library with college-level reference materials and wireless network
“¢ Taylor Performing Arts Center, dance studio, extensive art studios
“¢ Cafeteria, daily lunch service
A staff of experienced and enthusiastic coaches and teachers leads each of the five, one-week sessions. There will be no camp on July 4 due to Independence Day.
The schedule for the camps is:
Full Day AAA Camp
9 a.m.””3 p.m. | $225/week
(Lunch noon””12:30 p.m.)
Morning AAA Camp
9 a.m.””12:30 p.m. | $170/week
Afternoon AAA Camp
Noon””3 p.m. | $170/week.
The cancellation fee for the camp is $60. Full-day and half-day campers receive a daily lunch and juice break.
There is early delivery supervision from 7 a.m. daily. Campers will engage in activities with counselors until camp begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $10 a camper for the week.
Late pick-up supervision is available until 6 p.m. daily. This is for full-day and afternoon campers only. Campers engage in activities until being picked up. The cost is $10 a camper for the week.
Transportation for AAA Day Camp (bus or van transportation) will be available from June 25 to July 27 from Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe and Scripps Ranch if a sufficient number of campers sign up for the service. Vans will also pick up from the Old Town Trolley Station. The cost is $80 round-trip per week.
For further information on the camp, contact Rob Landis, (858) 459-4021, ext. 288, or e-mail [email protected].
