Midway traffic stop nets nearly 600 pounds of pot A faulty trailer tow light led to the arrest of two people and the discovery of nearly 600 pounds of marijuana Sunday night on Rosecrans Street, according to San Diego Harbor Police officials. Harbor Police made the discovery after trying to stop the vehicle towing a trailer shortly before 7 p.m., said Lt. James Jordan. The driver initially did not stop for Harbor Police but eventually parked and sprinted from the vehicle, Jordan said. The man, identified as Bualio Dejesus, 31, of Chula Vista was taken into custody a short time later, said Jordan. The passenger, identified as Jaclyn Cisneros, 31, of Baja California, was arrested at the scene. About 590 pounds of marijuana was detected by a police canine, Jordan said. Both suspects face charges of transportation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and multiple less serious counts, according to Harbor police. Community forums slated to address school cuts San Diego Unified School District board member John de Beck plans to meet with Point Loma, Bird Rock and Mission Bay cluster schools over recent school budget cuts. De Beck plans two meetings for the beach community schools he represents. The Point Loma Cluster Schools Foundation will host a town hall meeting Wednesday, April 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Correia Middle School Auditorium, 4302 Valeta St. PLCS foundation president Polly Traylor said the forum is an opportunity for the community to voice concerns. “This is so parents can hear directly from de Beck and have an open dialogue about the budget cuts and what they mean for our schools,” Traylor said in a recent interview. The foundation had originally scheduled the meeting for earlier this month, but it was postponed because of scheduling conflicts, Traylor said. Parents, administrators and students held a rally at a recent school board meeting in opposition of several cuts. Board trustees voted then to end busing to magnet schools and to consolidate one principal for every two schools that have fewer than 400 students. De Beck said in a recent interview that he will treat the Point Loma meeting as a “fact-finding time” to address concerns of Point Loma cluster schools.
