Nelson Photo moving to Point Loma Plaza

Nelson Photo received the keys to their new location at Point Loma Plaza on Monday, Aug. 24. After 60 years in Little Italy, the shop is moving in late October and should be ready to open its doors to the new location on Nov. 1.
“Nancy and I are excited to be moving to our new location,” said Larry Kuntz. “We set out to find a new space to move our 65-year-old company earlier this year with two main goals, one, to be within five miles of Little Italy store, and two, have free unlimited parking.
“We looked at many properties and had a lot of input from customers, industry friends, employees, friends and family. The good news is that we have a new location that met our goals.”
The new location will be at Point Loma Plaza, 3625 Midway Drive, Suite J. The cross street is Kemper Street. Access to the area is from the I-5 or I-8. The plaza tenants include Sport Chalet, Vons, 24 Hour Fitness, Joann’s Fabrics, Fed Ex, Buffalo Wild Wings, a couple of banks and many great small shops. Nelson Photo will be next door to the Malt Shop and Petco-Unleased.
“We have a long term lease for about 5,000-square-feet, which is about the same as the Little Italy store,” Kuntz said. “We are in the planning stage of design and construction.
“We will celebrate our 65th year in business on Oct. 3 at the Little Italy Store, then we start the process of setting up and moving into the new store by the end of the month.”
