Cafe Rio Mexican Grill offers free meals at grand opening ceremony

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill is opening its first San Diego location at 3309 Rosecrans St. on Jan. 17 with grand opening festivities starting at 10:30 a.m. The restaurant will be giving a $2,500 donation to the San Diego Unified School District and also offering the first 300 people in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony a free meal and drink of their choice. Cafe Rio is passionate about supporting their communities, schools and doing what they can to fight hunger. The funds that are given to the San Diego Unified School District will help support low income students with free lunches, as well as other school programs. The restaurant offer a 50 percent discount on Mondays and a 25 percent discount all other days with a valid military ID.
“Opening a new location in the San Diego community is very exciting for us,” says Todd Smith, chief marketing officer of Cafe Rio Mexican Grill. “We have amazing customers in California and it’s because of them, we’re able to bring fresh Mexican cuisine to the southern end of the state. We invite everyone to join us for our grand opening celebration.”
San Diego marks their 15th Southern California location. The others include Bakersfield, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Irvine, Lake Forest, Lakewood, Manhattan Beach, Palmdale, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, San Dimas, Tustin, Valencia, and Victorville. The company also operates four Northern California locations in Fair Oaks, Fresno, Sacramento and Stockton. Cafe Rio has 115 nationally and are in 11 states.
