The Escondido Humane Society’s dog-friendly Tails at Twilight Gala is set for Saturday, Sept. 25, at Old Richland Schoolhouse, 134 Woodland Parkway. This year’s theme is “There’s Magic in the Air,” appropriate considering that every ticket purchase will help create magic for homeless animals at the shelter. Event schedule: VIP Reception is from 4 to 5 p.m., including auction preview, specialty wines, hors d’oeuvres, music by award-winning blues musician Tomcat Courtney and private show by magician Joel Ward. General admission is at 5 p.m., including silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, hosted wine and beer, and entertainment by Tomcat Courtney. Dinner, live auction and entertainment are from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Cost: VIP tickets are $200 per person or $2,000 for a table for 10; regular tickets are $100 per person or $1,000 for a table for 10.
