Mission Bay Montessori Principal kisses one-eyed chicken

At 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 15, Mission Bay Montessori Academy principal, Kristie Miller, puckered up at the school’s flag ceremony to do the deed she promised, to kiss a one-eyed chicken.
As a motivational tool, Miller promised her students that if they raised over $10,000 at the school’s jog-a-thon fundraiser, she would kiss Taylor Swift, a one-eyed chicken. Miller states, “I am so proud of the efforts of my students and their community. The children met and exceeded my wildest expectations.” “Pucker up Ms. Kristie” states Taylor Swift, the one-eyed chicken. An MBMA parent and veterinarian sanctioned the event as safe and was be on site to assure that no animals or principals will be harmed. Mission Bay Montessori Academy is a traditional Montessori school with programs for children in Preschool through 6th grade. The school utilizes specialized, hands-on curriculum methods over a century ago based on years of observing children learning. Each classroom environment contains a wide range of materials that attract the child’s interest and present concepts in a carefully sequenced order, under the watchful guidance of Montessori-prepared teachers. Their 10-month school year runs from September through June, and we also offer a Summer Program. For more information, visit www.mbmacademy.com or call 858-457-5895.
