The La Jolla High girls field hockey team continues to stick it to the competition.
Under head coach Kristy Wolfmayer, the Lady Vikings came into action this week with a mark of 10-4.
Key players to date include Claire Mittermiller, Natalie Higgins and Kaitlin Sharpe.
In action this past week, La Jolla scored a 3-0 win over Chula Vista on goals from Mittermiller, Sandra Harpster and Jenny Russell. Assists went to Mittermiller and Shira Abramowitz, with AJ Thota recording the shutout.
La Jolla also dropped a 1-0 decision to Cathedral last week.
“We have made a huge improvement from last year and we are trying to do the best we can and prepare for CIF,” Wolfmayer remarked.
At The Bishop’s School, head coach Kristin Davidson and the Lady Knights came into this week at 5-6.
Key players recently have included Lia Sagerman, Ali Lauer, Jeanne Vaccari, Danielle DeJoy, Adrienne Tran, Sarah Shults and Cassandra Dreher.
“We are looking forward to having all our players back to 100 percent and to show how intensely we play,” Davidson said. “We are looking to have great communication on the field so that our passing is excellent. Expect to see an aggressive offense score more.”
