An art instructor from High Tech High and a few of his students have enhanced the new addition to Marco Polo Independent BMW & Mini Service in La Jolla.
Over the course of five days, Jeremy Farson, an artist from La Jolla and high school art teacher, along with five of his students, designed and completed a wall mural at the automotive shop. The students were bused to the shop everyday and have now left their mark and aided in the beautification of the neighborhood.
Marco Polo Independent BMW & Mini Service has been serving the La Jolla community for more than 30 years and recently expanded to the location next door. The mural displays new and old BMWs and celebrates both the expansion and the history of the shop.
Marco Polo is one of the few automotive shops in La Jolla that resides in a building that has remained unchanged over the years, something the owners, Janet and Marco Gentile, are very proud of.
“We wanted to incorporate new and old as well as the beautiful local view,” said Janet Gentile. “That’s why there are new and old BMWs as well as the local shack.”
