A female, 77 years of age, was driving her silver 2009 Lexus SUV E/B on 2000 Torrey Pines Road about 6 p.m. on Jan. 25. She entered the left turn pocket in order to turn onto northbound on Calle De La Plata. She turned left and violated the right of way of a 56-year-old male riding on a black 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist was driving westbound in the W-1 lane of 2000 Torrey Pines Road. The motorcyclist struck the right side of the Lexus. The driver of the Lexus was determined to be P-1 and the motorcyclist was determined to be P-2. The Lexus driver was not injured in this collision. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital by paramedics. It was determined he had sustained a fractured left femur. Traffic Division officers responded to conduct the investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision. The injuries to motorcyclist are not considered to be life threatening.
