Brianna Bartello earned her second spot on the Point Loma track and field all-time top 10 list as she registered a time of 2:14.56 in the 800m at the Triton Invitational (April 23).
Bartello placed her name 10th in school-history in the 800m with that time. That mark moved her into fifth on the 2016 PacWest Performance List and was the fastest for any Sea Lion this year. The freshman from Laguna Hills, Calif., also ranks ninth in the record books in the 1500m with a 4:41.40 which she set last week at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
The 4x400m relay team of Marissa Bartello, Josie Frye, Brianna Bartello and Alex Hernandez posted a season-best time of 4:04.35. That is the fifth-best time in the PacWest this season.
Hayley Richardson and Jocelyn Duran registered season-best marks in the 3k with times of 11:02.45 and 11:13.43, respectively.
“This was our final tune-up before conference,” said Point Loma head coach Jerry Arvin. “We are competing well heading into conference.”
The Sea Lions will be at Azusa Pacific next week to compete in the PacWest Track and Field Championships on April 28-29.
