Tribute bands are the hottest musical trend going at the moment. However, it may come as a surprise that, in addition to the usual subjects like top-tier emulation acts like Elvis, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin, the trend is now encompassing lesser-known but equally-worthy performers. Such is the case with Badd Co., a tribute to seventies rockers Bad Company. The band performs at Tio Leo’s on July 8. Their namesake band’s heyday was roughly 1974-79, with a handful of chart hits like “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” but Badd Co. also fills its set list with FM radio staples like “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad” and “Burning Sky,” making the band a firm fan favorite. Badd Co. strives for accuracy in its renditions, but still leaves things loose enough to have a little fun, capturing both the spirit and the sound of their heroes. Badd Co performs at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 8 at Tio Leo’s, 5302 Napa St. 21 and up. Cover TBD. www.baddcotribute.com
