The United States Postal Service will be moving its La Jolla carrier annex operations and employees into the University City carrier annex, located at 5045 Shoreham Place, effective July 25. The relocation of carrier operations will not impact mail delivery, and service will continue as normal. However, after July 25, certified or registered mail and packages for which a mail carrier left notice requesting pick-up and/or signature and vacation hold mail will be made available at the La Jolla main post office, at 1140 Wall St. The landlord at the La Jolla carrier annex, at 720 Silver St., has informed the postal service that the property will be sold. The new owner plans to demolish the building and build a new structure on the site. Postal service operations will not be accommodated in the new development and must relocate to alternate quarters. All postal service operations must be removed from the La Jolla annex no later than the end-of-lease date, July 31. Demolition is set to begin August 1.
