Jason Anderson, part-time Pacific Beach resident and 2018 Supercross 450SX Class champion, will not be competing in the upcoming Monster Energy AMA Supercross World Championship at Petco Park due to an injury. 
During a recent practice a couple of weeks ago, Anderson crashed and broke his arm, a “couple” ribs and injured one of his lungs. The 25-year-old champion said doctors told him it would take a little over two months for him to heal, keeping him from competing in the Feb. 2 race. 
While he would have liked to race, this isn’t the first time an injury has stopped him. 
“It’s pretty common,” he chuckled. “Last summer, I broke my foot and I was out for a few months, so I’m kind of used to it by now.” 
Despite Anderson’s absence, San Diego motorsport fans are still expected to gather at one of the most competitive and high-profile races n the world on Feb. 2 at Petco Park starting at noon. For more information and to buy tickets, visit supercrosslive.com.
