Look for another stormy day on Wednesday

Traffic tie-ups, flooded intersections and frayed nerves plagued motorists Tuesday — and the National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office expects more of the same Wednesday. A flash flood watch is in effect through this afternoon for San Diego’s coastal areas and a wind advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight to 2 p.m. Wednesday. The NWS forecasts showers and a chance of thunderstorms tonight, with winds gusting up to 40 mph in some instances. Locally heavy rainfall is predicted Wednesday with a chance of measurable precipitation at 50 percent. Lows Wednesday are anticipated between 43 and 51 degrees along the coast. The NWS looks for Thursday to be partly cloudy and forecasts mostly sunny skies Friday. Santa and his reindeer can expect clear skies on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day should be mostly sunny with highs between 60 and 65 degrees, according to the NWS.
