
The Bishop’s School Knights played the Coronado Islanders Nov. 17 for the San Diego Section Division II boys water polo title ” their 10th match-up in 11 years in the final.
After being down 3-0 to the Islanders early on, the Knights roared back and led 8-7 after a third goal from Justin Wolfe with three minutes left in regulation play.
When the Islanders tied the score on a power-play goal, the game went into double overtime and the action heated up.
The Coronado goalie made 10 saves and then the Islanders scored to top the Knights, 11-10.
The Knights have beaten the Islanders in five of the past six years.
The game was played at La Jolla High’s Coggan Pool.
