Bird Rock Surf Shop, 5509 La Jolla Blvd., will present another Family Movie Night on Wednesday, Aug. 19, with the showing of “School of Rock” between 8 and 10 p.m. The 2003 film stars Jack Black as struggling musician Dewey Finn, who finds himself out of work, takes over his roommate’s job as an elementary school substitute teacher and turns class into a rock band. Dewey also meets Zack, a 10-year-old guitar prodigy, who could help Dewey win a “battle of the bands” competition, which would solve his financial problems and put him back in the spotlight. The films are shown outdoors, on the surf shop parking lot. Please bring a chair and dress accordingly.
