Dr. Carmine Bausone, director of integrative medicine at Acacia Animal Health Center, donated his time to develop and supervise a custom weight loss program. His efforts paid off. Just before Christmas, Lara exceeded her goal, dropping from 102 to 72 lbs. Mike Dougherty, an AKC-licensed judge and owner of Windsong Pet Resort in Escondido, gave Lara a celebratory beauty makeover last week. He said by losing that much weight, she extended her life by four to five years.
