SAN DIEGO — Purina and Ralphs awarded $53,000 to the San Diego Human Society (SDHS) and SPCA for winning its “Tales for the Pet Lover’s Heart” video contest on Thursday, Oct. 14. Trista Sutter, of ABC’s “The Bachelorette” was in attendance to give the check to Dr. Mark Goldstein, president of the SDHS and SPCA, on behalf of Purina and Ralphs. Goldstein said that the money will help SDHS continue to give food, water, shelter, love and healthcare to animals in need. The SDHS competed against 17 other organizations to win the money. — Debbie Hatch
