Friends and family of a missing Point Loma woman gathered Saturday to honor her memory. The service for Rosa Lisowski, 48, was held at the Stonewood Garden apartments in Point Loma where she lived. About 25 people attended the service, according to family friend Wanda Agosto. Lisowski, a mother of four, disappeared Monday, March 24. She was last seen walking her youngest son to Barnard Elementary School. Police detectives have said Lisowski is now presumed dead. Organized by members of the Christian Life Mission of San Diego, Saturday’s service served as a memorial to Lisowski, said Agosto. Friends believe she may never be found and they continue to mourn her loss. “We wanted to give some type of closure and say goodbye to her, and just talk about what she meant to us,” Agosto said. Agosto organized the service along with her husband, Edgar, who is a pastor for the church, she said. Agosto and Lisowski had met and become bible study partners in the months before Lisowski’s disappearance. They became friends while Lisowski struggled through a bitter divorce and custody battle, she said. Agosto said she wanted to have the memorial service for her friend after the arraignment of Lisowski’s estranged husband, Henry, 67. Police arrested Henry Lisowski on Sept. 5. He currently faces homicide charges in connection with the disappearance, according to police. Court testimony by investigators during an arraignment Sept. 9 revealed that police discovered the blood of both Rosa and Henry in the cargo area of Henry’s Lexus and additionally in his kitchen. Investigators have served multiple search warrants on Henry’s separate residence as well as his boat. Friends and community members have supported Rosa and her family since her disappearance. Rosa is being remembered as a good friend to many, said friend Heather Peterson. Peterson lived in the same apartment complex as Rosa. In recent months, Peterson worked to keep the case in the public eye. Following Rosa’s disappearance, Peterson organized candle vigils and held a “Walk for Rosa,” where several friends and community members walked along West Point Loma Boulevard to the home of Henry Lisowski. Peterson said she plans to host another memorial for Rosa after the conclusion of the murder trial. Henry Lisowski’s preliminary hearing has tentatively been set for Nov. 17.
