A new luxury residential project, Muse La Jolla, is reaching the conclusion of renovation and construction. Located at 1020 Prospect St., it sits snugly at the iconic intersection of Prospect and Girard. The building used to be the Prospect Center, which contained law firms, financial advisors, and a contemporary art gallery. It was sold to Hammer Ventures in 2015 for $27.9 million. A sales center and model home are now open for Muse La Jolla. The final product is a reimagination of the old concrete and glass of the Prospect Center with a modernist influence. The four-story construct houses 16 residential units, including one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans starting at $2.7 million. Arguably the crown jewel of the building is the 3,255-square-feet condo, Penthouse 402, currently listed at $10.12 million. If sold, it would be the most expensive condo ever sold in San Diego. The current record holder is a $7.25 million condo in downtown San Diego at the Harbor Club Condos, which sold in 2007. Even adjusting for inflation, it would cost $8.5 million in current dollars, still falling short of the extravagant Muse unit. There are three other penthouses on the same floor, and all four of them sport private rooftop terraces, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and three parking spaces. The next biggest penthouse is Penthouse 401 at 2,646 square feet, and Penthouses 403 and 404 are both 2,180 square feet. Something worth noting is that Penthouse 401’s sky-top terrace is more spacious than the one 402 has. The other non-penthouse units are no slouches, though. The smallest condo, a one-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom unit, sits comfortably at 1,000 square feet and the biggest condo, a two-bedroom, two bathroom, and study unit features a whopping 3,102 square feet. Moreover, the unique development features a permanently protected view. Sitting high on the cliffs, Muse La Jolla also rises above the 30-foot buildable height limit, ensuring its picturesque panorama will never be obstructed. The first floor is the only floor with mixed use: half of the space was delegated into two retail units that were sold for $4.65 million to Cornerstone Communities, who plans to lease them to businesses. The rest of the first floor contains two 1,045 square feet terraces. One model home is currently open, with additional units to be unveiled in the coming weeks as construction and interior staging is completed. Viewings are by appointment only and may be scheduled by contacting [email protected] or 855-703-MUSE (6873).
