HOLIDAY CELEBRATION

Enjoy a fun evening of shopping, live music, dinner and drinks starting at 5 p.m., Dec. 13 at the La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd. Dinner will be followed by festive music and dancing from 7-9 p.m. Event is free for members and $15 for non-members. ENJOYA LA JOLLA

Enjoya La Jolla celebrates the season with a free afternoon filled with live music and entertainment, tasty treats, exclusive offers and prizes from 3-6 p.m., Dec. 14, at La Jolla Village near Prospect and Girard. ART RECEPTION

The La Jolla Art Association will hold a reception from 5-7 p.m. Dec.ember 14 at the La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd. The event will present “Two Faces of Digital Art,” the work of Renata Spiazzi and Dan Pressman and the fine art of Dottie Stanley. HOLIDAY BAZAAR
 

A free Holiday Bazaar will be held from noon-5 p.m., Dec. 15, at Trilogy Sanctuary, 7650 Girard Ave. At this bazaar, you’ll find more than 30 local vendors selling clothing, accessories, holistic beauty products, jewelry, art, and more. Visit trilogysanctuary.com for more information.


‘NUTCRACKER’ AT THE CONRAD

“Nutcracker. No Sugar” will make its debut at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Dec. 15, at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, 7600 Fay Ave. The performance, presented by Ballet Institute of San Diego, will feature nearly a dozen La Jolla dancers in this twist on the traditional classic. Created by founder and artistic director Egle Spokaite, the play has elements of a traditional “Nutcracker” as well as an unexpected look at the beloved holiday ballet, including spotlighting karate students from Eagle Martial Arts of La Jolla. Tickets range from $16 to $43 and are available at 858-459-3728 or ljms.org.

HANDEL’S MESSIAH

Ruben Valenzuela will lead the La Jolla Symphony chamber orchestra, chorus soloists, and audience members in the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah at 4 p.m., Dec. 15 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 6628 Santa Isabel St., in Carlsbad. All are welcome to join in for the singing or simply enjoy the sound of hundreds of voices lifted in song. Tickets are $18 or $10 for youth 21 and under. HOLIDAY CANDLE WORKSHOP

Gather with friends for a fun holiday candle workshop from 6-7:30 p.m., Dec. 18, at La Valencia Hotel, 1132 Prospect St. Local candle makers will show you the basics of small batch candle pouring. Choose your favorite scents for your holiday blend and then make a second one as a gift. Each candle is made with 100% natural soy wax, cotton core wicks, and premium fragrance and essential oils blends.This class cost $59 per person and also includes complimentary food pairing from La Valencia’s chef: shots of butternut calvados soup, curried creme. COOKIE DECORATING PARTY
 

A Cookies for Santa Kids Decorating Party will be held from 1-3 p.m., Dec. 21, at Herringbone La Jolla, 7837 Herschel Ave. Tickets cost $40 and include two sugar cookies to decorate, one souvenir cookie, a treat bag, pizza, and a drink. STORYTIME BRUNCH WITH SANTA

Enjoy a Storytime Brunch with Santa from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Dec. 22, at The Med at La Valencia Hotel, 1132 Prospect St. Enjoy a decadent brunch followed by a Christmas story read by Santa himself at 1 p.m., followed by kids holiday activities.
