Mission Bay High School — Wednesday, Sept. 18: Back to School Night, 5 p.m. This event will feature information about school events and activities, the chance to meet teachers and staff, learn about the curriculum and expectations of students and the chance to meet other families attending the school.   
Pacific Beach Middle School — Tuesday, Sept. 24 (new date): Back to School Night, 5 p.m. Join students and tour PBMS, learn about the curriculum and expectations and meet PBMS teachers and staff, as well as other PBMS families.
Attention surfers and boogie boarders: Kids of all skill levels are invited to join the PB Locals, a surf team for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. Our purpose is foster the youth surf community through mentoring and instruction while cultivating competition surfing. The season starts soon. Kate Sessions Elementary School — As Kate Sessions embarks on a new school year, the school welcomes all new families attending, including those from Bayview Terrace. The Sessions PTO meets once a month. Pacific Beach residents are invited to attend Kate Sessions Dining Night Out on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Kato Sushi and Chupacabras Taqueria on the corner of Cass and Garnet. Dine at one of these restaurants on that day and mention Kate Sessions, and a percentage of your check total will go to the fundraising efforts at Kate Sessions Elementary. Pacific Beach Elementary School — Thursday, Sept. 12, 5:30 to 7 p.m., Back to School Night: Adults, come learn about your child’s curriculum for the 2013-14 school year.
Friday, Sept. 20, 5 to 7 p.m., Penguin Pride Night: free family event on the black top at PBE: hotdogs and lemonade for all. We will have a cakewalk, selling PBE T-shirts, tile painting and the kickoff of the Scholastic Book Fair.

Sept. 24: Picture Day
 
Friends of Pacific Beach Secondary Schools — The next FOPBSS meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m. at the Mission Bay High library. We will discuss the Back to School Night events, progress in the stadium construction, removal of the portable classrooms, the Mandarin Chinese program, available positions, principal reports and the White Sea Bass Program.

Shore Point Realty’s Alex Rojas is sponsoring the Swing 4 Schools Charity Golf Tournament and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit PB schools. It will be held at Riverwalk on Friday, Sept. 13. Mission Bay High School Alumni Association — The MBHS Alumni Association presents the Seaside Farmers Market every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MBHS Grand Avenue student parking lot.
