Downtown goes green for annual shamROCK street party

Take to the streets this St. Patrick’s Day from 4 p.m. to midnight Thursday, March 17, as the Gaslamp becomes a green paradise carpeted in more than 80,000 square feet of astro-turf for San Diego’s top Saint Patty’s Day celebration: the 22nd annual Bud Light shamROCK presented by Jameson Irish Whiskey and The Field.
Three stages of music will get you jigging like a leprechaun that has found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Nothing says Saint Patty’s day quite like the roar and liveliness of live Irish rock. Get your shamROCK on at the Pub Stage, featuring a jam-packed lineup of Irish punk and rock bands, including Ass Pocket Whiskey Fellas, Bad Haggis, Drunken Lullabies, The Fenians, and The Fooks. Be sure to brush up on your jig to impress your pals, or leave it to the pros of Na Scéalaithe Irish Dance Company as they perform incredible footwork alongside our talented lineup.
If EDM is more your scene, visit the Clover Stage. Gents & Jawns, G-roy, Christyle, Este, and Craig Smoove will be rocking the block.
The Pint Stage is your stop for all things house music. This stage will have you feeling like you just found a bucket of four-leaf clovers as you dance to Kastra, Mr. Brown, Slaptop, Fishfonics, and Decon.
Not only does the shamROCK wristband gives you access to live entertainment, the 100 foot Irish pub, and San Diego’s finest revelers, attendees to the event can also take advantage of restaurant and bar specials from more than 23 participating locations throughout the Gaslamp. Stop by McFadden’s for a $3 Bud Light; the Hard Rock Café for a $5 Jameson Irish Whiskey shot; or Crazy Goose for delicious Irish Egg Rolls. See a full list of all participating restaurants and the specials they are offering at sandiegoshamrock.com/restaurant-and-bar-specials/.
Go VIP for an elevated shamROCK experience. VIPs enjoy access to a VIP entrance, VIP lounge, VIP restrooms, and can take advantage of $1 off all drinks at the VIP bar a well as seven complimentary drinks: three at the VIP bar and four at participating Gaslamp venues. Current participating venues are The Field, McFadden’s, Blush Ice Bar, and East Village Tavern and Bowl.
Tickets: $40 for general admission and $85 for VIP through March 16; $45 for general admission and $95 for VIP on the day of the event.
shamROCK is 21 and older, all attendees must present valid photo ID to enter the event. For more information on the event, visit sandiegoshamrock.com. San Diego shamROCK benefits the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, which supports the preservation of the history and culture of the Gaslamp Quarter, as well as providing a living history of San Diego.
