I'M 30 AND LIVING IN PB!

Buffalo Exchange: Your money-saving shopping alternative Trying to find affordable any clothes, let alone maternity clothes, is a feat. At the high-end Pea in a Pod maternity store, $100 will get you a blouse — maybe. I decided to check out Buffalo Exchange, a store I know and love for its good-condition used clothing that is priced affordably. I spent about $100 and walked out with several blouses, shoes and accessories! I am so glad I went to Buffalo in lieu of the traditional Target or Old Navy for maternity gear. My motivation in going to Buffalo was to search for flowing, loose-fitting tops and dresses for work and nights out. I knew to stay away from jeans and pants, due to the expanding preggers waistline. I made some incredible scores: $12.99 on a Banana Republic top, $17.99 on a Maxi dress and $19.99 on brand-new American Eagle clogs, to name a few. Buffalo has something for everyone! The funny thing is that they don’t even have a “maternity” section, yet I was able to find plenty of items I could wear. Buffalo has both a men’s and women’s section, so you can even bring your guy if you’re one of those people who believe in torture. The women’s section is divided up into blouses, jeans, shorts and T-shirts. One entire side is dedicated to dresses, both long and short, and during the summer, there is a bathing suit section (don’t worry, they only sell new bathing suits). They have shoes, purses and a ton of accessories around the store. Buffalo also accepts your old clothes. But be warned: they only want it if it’s high-quality or a name brand. They aren’t taking your high school sweat pants here. If you’re heading in, I recommend taking in your higher-quality items. It’s worth a try since Buffalo will review your merchandise while you shop. Plus, if they take your unwanted items, you can choose either cash or store credit. I recommend store credit because that goes a lot farther. Buffalo is the first place I tell new friends in PB about. It will be your new favorite spot and you’ll never want to step foot in a mall again! Buffalo Exchange, 1007 Garnet Ave., (858) 273-6227, store hours: Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
