The United States Tennis Association National Father-Daughter & Mother-Son Hard Court Championships, featuring some of the top doubles teams in the country, will be played Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9 at the Barnes Tennis Center, 4490 W Point Loma Blvd. Teams will compete for titles in the following divisions during the USTA National Father-Daughter & Mother-Son Hard Court Championships: Father-Daughter Doubles (No age limitation for either player);
Senior Father-Daughter Doubles (Father must be 60 or older);
Super Senior Father-Daughter Doubles (Father must be 70 or older);
Ultra Senior Father-Daughter Doubles (Father must be 80 or older);
Mother-Son Doubles (No age limitation for either player);

Several local teams are seeded in the tournament. Doug and Julia Ronney of San Diego are seeded fourth in the Father-Daughter Division. Ryan and Pamela Seggerman of Coronado, Calif., are seeded fourth in the Mother-Son Division and William and Tiffany Kellogg of La Jolla, Calif., are the No. 8 seeds in the Sr. Father-Daughter Division.
“We are looking forward to a spectacular three days of doubles at the Barnes Tennis Center,” said tournament director Todd Sprague. “The tournament is using a round-robin format with flights, which allows teams to play multiple matches during the event. We invite tennis fans to come and watch the action this weekend.”
Each division will offer round robin pool play feeding into a quarterfinal, semifinal or final bracketed draw. Players will be pooled in groups of 3 or 4 teams. All matches will be two sets with a match tiebreak.
Matches will begin at 8 a.m. each day of the tournament. The tournament welcomes spectators to watch matches with free admission and on-site parking.
