All female Iron Maiden tribute band, The Iron Maidens perform at Brick by Brick on Nov. 12. Formed in 2001, the quintet focuses on their namesakes golden era, with songs such as “The Trooper” and “Run to the Hills” amongst the gems in their set list. The band has three albums to their credit, but it’s live where they really deliver. Once the band starts playing the fact that its women playing these hard rocking tunes becomes irrelevant – these ladies can play circles around most rockers and really are the next best thing to the real deal. The Iron Maidens: Saturday, Nov. 12, at Brick by Brick, 1130 Buenos Ave. 8 p.m. 21 and up. $20. www.brickbybrick.com. Anyone who enjoys Latin acoustic guitar music, ala the Gypsy Kings, will want to check out Cantua, who perform at the Firefly on Nov. 5. The perfect soundtrack to an evening out, the duo performs in both English and Spanish, with a set full of excellent originals alongside recast versions of such classics as “California Dreaming.” But what sets Cantua apart is their thrilling fretwork, which almost guarantees every song is a showstopper. More than mere background music, Cantua is a combo that will impress you as much as the food at Firefly and well worth the listen. Cantua: Saturday, Nov. 5 at Firefly, 1710 West Mission Bay Drive. 7 p.m. 21 and up. No cover. www.thedana.com/dining. Born in El Salvador, Georgia-based and currently gigging in San Diego, it’s clear Angie Keilhauer is a restless artist. Already a veteran of NBC’s “The Voice,” where she was lauded by country superstar Blake Shelton, Keilhauer recently released a new album, “Wild,” which captures her mix of country and pop sounds to good effect. Performing on Nov. 9 at the Backyard Kitchen & Tap, Keilhauer’s easy going persona and stage presence will win over even the most jaded music fan, making her performances a must for anyone who enjoys singer-songwriters or just a good tune. Angie Keilhauer: Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Backyard Kitchen & Tap, 832 Garnet Ave. 7 p.m. No cover. www.backyardpb.com. Cajun and zydeco favorites, The Bayou Brothers perform at the Pacific Beach Library on Nov. 9. While the boisterous good time music of New Orleans might seem to be the antithesis of what might typically be heard in a library, there is no doubt that the music is an infectious delight. One of the town’s most celebrated party bands, The Bayou Brothers most recent album is called “Music for the Feet” and there is no better description of the band’s sound than that. While there is no dancing at this fee event, foot tapping and clapping along is encouraged. Bayou Brothers: Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Pacific Beach Library, 4275 Cass St. 7 p.m. All ages. No cover. www.pblibraryfriends.org. There is lots of great original music in town, but every once in a while, it’s fun to hear the hits of yesteryear – such is the case with Dazed and Confused, who perform the songs of Led Zeppelin. The band doesn’t try to replicate Zep’s look, though the drummer does have a giant gong behind him, instead focusing on giving audiences a hot sweaty night of rock ’n’ roll. While there are no surprises in the set list, the band performs crowd pleasing versions of material from throughout Led Zeppelin’s career, including “Misty Mountain Hop” and “Immigrant Song,” making this a great night out for any classic rock fan Dazed & Confused: Saturday, Nov. 12, at the 710 Beach Club, 710 Garnet Ave. 9 p.m. 21 and up. www.710bc.com. Blues fans won’t want to miss Mercedes Moore, performing at Humphrey’s Backstage Live on Nov. 15. Backed by a terrific band, Moore has a superb voice, sultry and fiery all at once, exceling at danceable blues, meant to get people on their feet and out on the floor. A festival favorite, these more intimate gigs are the perfect way to get acquainted with Moore and her sound, taking in genre evergreens alongside her own top notch material, such as “Soulful Dress.” The blues field in San Diego is pretty crowded these days, but one listen to Moore and company will quickly show why she is one of San Diego’s leading lights. Mercedes Moore: Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Humphrey’s Backstage Live, 2241 Shelter Island Drive. 7 p.m. $5. www.humphreysbackstagelive.com.
