Award-winning pianist Danny Green performs at the La Jolla Community Center Sept. 27, as part of the Fourth Friday Jazz Series. Green is a wonderfully lyrical player, with each note carving out a rich melody. Backed by longtime bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm, Green’s compositions take flight with the musicians’ parts so in sync, that at times their playing is breathtaking. Green’s latest album, “One Day It Will,” is a must for all fans of piano-based jazz, but catch this trio live if you can, where their music truly shines.
