Hillcrest Mardi Gras 2010

Hillcrest Mardi Gras 2010
Fat Tuesday, Feb. 16

Hillcrest Mardi Gras 2010The 9th Annual Hillcrest Mardi Gras Street Festival will be from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on University Avenue between First and Fourth avenues. The event is for ages 21 and over, and will take place rain or shine. Liquor will be available for purchase.

The celebration is a benefit for the Hillcrest Business Association, which provides neighborhood improvements, and the GSDBA Charitable Foundation, which provides youth scholarships.

FABULOUS ENTERTAINMENT

Drag Superstar Jackie Beat promises to entertain with her razor-sharp comedy and lively songs. Chico’s Angels, three beautiful and comedic Latina drag queens, will kick up their cha-cha heels, while Tootie & the Lips Girls will be performing throughout the evening. Additional performances by the Dreamgirls and Tantrums & Tiaras contestants will highlight the evening. Il Circo performers will be roaming the festival and entertaining guests, too.

DANCE AREA

DJ TAJ will be spinning in the Dance Tent. Look for Paris’ Galactic Go-Go Dancers and other surprises, too.

EXCLUSIVE V.I.P. TREATMENT

The V.I.P. Pass gets guests into the festival’s exclusive V.I.P. area that offers free beer and wine plus food service from participating vendors including Babycakes of San Diego, Baja Betty’s, Gossip Grill, Lips San Diego, Pizza Fusion and Urban Mo’s Bar and Grill. Besides designated lounging, private V.I.P. restrooms are offered as well.

PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS & VENDORS

Look for participation from favorite restaurants and vendors including The Big Easy, Charisma Cucina Italiana, Fiesta Cantina, Ortega’s Mexican Bistro and Urban Mo’s Bar and Grill. Fun and games provided by Viejas Casino.

FREE BEADS

Guests can expect more than 50,000 beads of all varieties and colors to be given away at the celebration this year. Additional party favors will be given out all evening. Colorful costumes and festive outfits are encouraged.
