80s for Haiti’ tribute band benefit, Feb. 20

As of press time, confirmed acts include The Cured (The Cure tribute), Blasphemous Rumours (Depeche Mode tribute), The Joshua Tree (U2 tribute), Sweet and Tender Hooligans (The Smiths/Morrissey tribute), Radio Star (hard rock spin on ’80s new wave), Rio (Duran Duran tribute), Gabba Gabba Heys (Ramones tribute), Metro (’80s dance-pop hits), Ghost in the Machine (Police/Sting tribute), Dust ‘n’ Bones (Guns & Roses tribute), The CamelTones (’80s party hits) and guest John Easdale from Dramarama.
Steve West, a DJ at radio station 91X in the ’80s who now operates RadioNigel.com, will host the benefit concert and spin in one of two DJ areas throughout the event.
Donated items will be raffled during the event. Tickets are $22 presale and $27 day of show, and are available at Ticketmaster and the 4th & B box office. All proceeds will be donated to the Clinton/Bush Haiti Fund.
Cutline: The Cured, a tribute band covering music from The Cure, recently played a sold-out show with Blasphemous Rumours at House of Blues downtown. Both bands will play in ‘80s for Haiti,’ Feb. 20.
